Vince Staples Discusses Whether Jussie Smollett Should get Locked Up

Vince Staples said that Jussie Smollett should get off with no prison time whatsoever.

The Cali rapper recently sat down with GQ and talked about the Empire actor, who was accused of staging his own attack after saying he was beaten up Donald Trump supporters. Police eventually said they had proof that Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers $3500 to attack him, and the brothers are now working with the police.

But according to Vince, even though Smollett lied, he's not doing anything different than what Chicago Police have done in the past — especially since they have a history of corruption, being racist and using excessive force.

"Ah, man, free the Juice Man," said Staples. "He's just running a little scam. Shit, the fact he feels like he has to do that says more about this world and less about him. Because nobody wants to do that. Hopefully, he don't get time because police are smoking people, falsifying police reports, and they get to go home so let my boy go home."

Do you agree with Vince?
