Twitter Reacts To J. Cole's New Album "K.O.D."

by HHL JT

J. Cole's surprise fifth album K.O.D. arrived in the first moments of 4/20.

Cole is a polarizing figure. (Is he boring? Is he deep? Is he a contender for the crown?) Judging from the initial Twitter reaction to K.O.D., he will continue to be.

Check some of it out.

At this point it’s just trendy to dislike J Cole; like when it was trendy to “dislike” Drake.

Jay Z's "4:44" album was the alley-oop to "KOD" & J Cole caught the lob & shattered the backboard

J Cole album overall is boring af. The lyrics are dope and he had layers but idk I rarely was bobbing my head. It was not entertaining to me.

people going to get mad and probably question my intelligence but it was boring.

If somebody not a J. Cole fan, one album ain’t gone turn em into one. Most Cole fans been rockin since The Warm Up. So we’ve seen the journey. And it makes us appreciate projects like this more than the casual listener.

If you're impressed by J Cole, I just don't think you like rap that much loooooooool This guy signs rappers more talented than he is

I’m so critical of J. Cole BECAUSE he’s actually talented. And it’s being wasted on some jaded version of altruism that’s just ends up being bordline condescending and distasteful. That’s why his message falls on deaf ears AND he’s musically stagnant.

If you stan J. Cole, great, but don’t play the “he’s the only non-problematic rapper” card. He and all your other favs have a little bit of misogyny mixed in with that message, too

Somebody said J. Cole is the Tim Duncan of rap, and I can’t deny how accurate that is

KOD. 3 meanings.

Kids on Drugs

The rest of the album I leave to your interpretation.
