Tay-K post Letter From Jail; Lobbies For Freshman List

by HHL JT

Is XXL going to put a rapper who has two pending murder charges and who got famous by bragging about his criminal exploits on wax on their 2018 Freshman list?

Tay-K certainly hopes so.

The 17-year rapper had his peeps post an open letter he wrote from Tarrant County Jail in which he lobbied to be included on the list.

In his note, Tay-K points out that he's the first SoundCloud rapper to make the Billboard 100 and that his hit track and criminal manifesto "The Race" has over 100 million views on YouTube.

'Being a kid that came from nothing, I feel like it that says a lot and motivates other unfortunate kids to dream big and reach for the stars," he handwrote.

He also stresses that the murder charges on him are just allegations and that he should be home soon.

Last month, a judge denied Tay-K bond, citing, among other things, the lyrics to "The Race".
