Shyne took the fall in Puff Daddy's (and Jennifer Lopez's) notorious 1999 shoot 'em up at a Manhattan club.
He got out in 2009 after nearly serving nine years, and was promptly deported to his homeland of Belize.
Shyne's dad happened to be prime minister of the tiny Central American nation when all of this was going on, and now Shyne has followed his pops into politics as an MP and the leader of Belize's opposition.
It was in that capacity that he returned to the US for the first time since his deportation.
While stateside, Shyne visited Martin Luther King's grave.
