Slaughterhouse Fight: Joe Budden & Royce Da 5'9" Argue Over Criticizing Eminem

by Daryl Nelson

Joe Budden caused a huge stir when he said that Eminem's song "Untouchable" was trash. In the wake of that criticism, Em got at Joe on the "Chloraseptic Remix." Budden was also dissed by D12's Bizzarre and threatened by 50 Cent for his comments about Shady.

Now, Royce Da 5'9" has responded to Joe's words, accusing him of being insensitive and disloyal. Of course, Em signed Joe to  Shady Records when he was in Slaughterhouse with Royce, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz, but that didn't stop Joe from giving "Untouchable" such a harsh critique.

"I think he's entitled to his opinion just like anybody else, but it goes back to the dignity thing, the loyalty," said Royce. "I can say I don't like every single Eminem song that ever came out, and I'm entitled to that opinion, but there's such a thing as going past the realm of what your opinion is and making it so that it sounds like you're trying to sway people's judgment ... Joe being an artist, I thought if anybody, he would understand how important it is that you walk eggshells around each other's art. That's just how we do."

Joe responded to the comments on his podcast this morning.

"That sounds like he just said, we sugarcoat each other's shit,"Budden said of Royce's comments.

His co-host pushed back on that, arguing that holding back some criticism is what friends do for each other.

"Eminem is not my friend," Budden explained.

Do you think Joe showed disloyalty by being so critical of "Untouchable?" You can check Joe's words on Shady and Royce at the 1:35 mark.
