Rick Fox Speaks On False Report He Died In Kobe Bryant Crash

Right after it was reported Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash, Twitter was overrun with wild rumors.

One of the more prevalent ones suggested Bryant's long-time teammate Rick Fox had also perished in the incident.

Fox, who has kept a high profile as an actor and TV personality, was not on the chopper.

He spoke on being the subject of such a devastating rumor last night on TNT.

"My family went through, in the midst of all this, something that I couldn’t have imagined them experiencing,” Fox said on the show. "One of my daughter’s greatest fears is finding out that a parent, one of her parents, has died through social media instead of from a loved one or a family member and she, fortunately, called me and we were talking and crying about the news about Kobe."

Fox said he didn't even learn about the rumor until his best friend and former North Carolina teammate King Rice called him crying.

"At that moment, my phone just starting going, with my mom and my sister and my brother," Fox said.
