Ralph Lauren Removes Clothing With Phi Beta Sigma Lettering; Apologizes

Boosie Badazz isn't the only one having issues with using Greek letters that aren't his.

Ralph Lauren has pulled a pair of pants that featured Phi Beta Sigma's lettering from their French website after black Greek life website Watch The Yard called attention to the $330 item. They also apologized for including the letters amid a mishmash of symbols on the chino.

“The use of these symbols on our products was an oversight for which we deeply apologize. We are immediately taking action to remove the product from our sales channels. While we have a rigorous review process in place for all of our designs, this has prompted us to take another review of our protocols to help ensure that this does not happen again,” the company said in the statement. “As an American brand with more than 50 years of heritage, Ralph Lauren is inspired by many facets of American culture. As part of this, we are firmly committed to respectful and appropriate use of all cultural icons and insignias.”

Boosie, who posted a photo of him wearing a red Kappa Alpha Psi sweater at the Hawks game, hasn't apologized, explaining he bought it in the mall because he thought it was hard and fresh and he had expected love not hate for wearing it.
