Quality Control Accuses Offset of Violating Secret Deal

Last year, Offset sued Quality Control for reneging on a deal they made concerning his solo music.

The trigger was when the label tried to claim Set's Baby Keem-produced solo single "54321", which Offset believed he had put out independently.

Now QC is firing back on two fronts.

First, they are saying they are still the rights holder.  They are also saying Set violated the confidential clause of a secret contract amendment they signed by discussing the situation on social media.

As such, they want the case tossed from court.

“Having continued to accept the benefits of working directly with Capitol (after Defendant assigned to Offset its rights under the Offset/Capital Agreement) in connection with the production of recordings as works for hire, and because, under the Label Deal Agreement, as amended, 100 percent of the copyright rights in recordings made by Offset as works for hire for Capitol are automatically assigned by Capitol to Quality Control, Plaintiffs are estopped from taking the position in this action that they are the owner of such recordings, rather than Capitol or its assignee, Quality Control," QC argued.
