Nicki Minaj compared herself to Harriet Tubman, and it's caused a stir.

After her tweet received a good amount of backlash, Nicki refused to take her words back.

While Nicki was on her way to the 2018 MTV Video Awards, a TMZ reporter asked the rapper if comparing herself to Harriet Tubman to explain what she's done for music streaming was too much.
"I am the new Harriet Tubman... I'm Harriet Tubman, leave me alone." she replied.
At the awards ceremony, Nicki's "Chun-Li" video brought home the trophy for the Best Hip Hop award and during her acceptance speech she told everyone to listen to Queen Radio because she'll be handing out an award of her own.
"Tune in to Queen Radio to see who Cocksucker of the Year is going to” she said.
It's hard to tell who that award will go to since Nicki has been beefing with several people over the last couple of weeks, like DJ Self over a drop, Safaree Samuels and their past relationship and Travis Scott's Astroworld beating her for the No. 1 spot on Billboard.
