Method Man Explains Why He Wants Dave East To Play Him in New Hulu Series

It was announced back in March that Dave East was tapped to play a character based on Method Man in an upcoming Hulu series, and the Staten Island rapper explained why he's all for it.

East will play the character Shotgun in the RZA-created Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and Meth explained why he couldn't play the part himself.

"I cannot play myself as young myself, it wouldn't even look right," he told GQ. "I saw it as an opportunity for someone like myself when I first got into it, 'cause there weren't a lot of people giving you a chance to show that you can do it. So when I seen Dave's name in the pot I was like, 'Yeah, he's just like me. He wants to be an actor, f*ck it, give him a shot.'"
