Baltimore rapper YTK and his team tried to use Mariah Carey for clout.
It may have backfired.
YTK spun Mariah's 2005 hit “Shake It Off” into his track “Let It Off”, which had a lot more gunplay than the original.
Then his A&R man issued a challenge to Mariah.

Mariah wasn't feeling it and made it clear they were going to have trouble clearing the sample.
