Joyner Lucas Explains More Of His Issues With Logic

by HHL JT

Joyner Lucas has made it clear he wasn't happy with the way Logic approached the 2016 Tech N9ne track 'Sriracha," on which they were both featured.

"I just think he's a corny guy," he said of Logic in an interview with Billboard this summer. "Honestly, it stemmed from [Logic] going on the 'Sriracha' record, and it took a long time to get it back. When Tech N9ne initially gave me the record, I was excited about Logic being on there, but after that much time went by and the verse he gave was so disrespectful, I felt like he have Tech that verse on a count of me being on the record. I felt he was upset I was on the record and gave a wack verse."

During Joyner's appearance today on Everyday Struggle he more or less repeated that story. But he also added a new twist; he said Tech also felt disrespected by Logic's delay and weak bars.

When Joe Budden asked Joyner if Tech knew he was speaking on his behalf like that, Joyner said "I don't know, but Tech definitely felt a type of way about that shit."

Additionally, Joyner made an overall criticism of Logic's lyrical content.

“I think he can rap. But I feel like he tries to prove that he’s black too much for me,” he says. “It just seems like all his bars are just like, every other bar, every other song is ‘I’m black. Oh, I’m half-black and half-white.’ That’s cool, that’s who you are, it’s just too repetitive for me.

Joyner talks Logic at about the 38:30 mark.
