Wealthy entertainment couple JAY-Z and Beyonce have paid $200 million for a 30,000-square-foot home in Malibu.

If that sounds like a lot, it's because it is.  

It's the most expensive home sale in the history of California.  The previous high was $177 million.

The U.S. record is $238 million for a (very large) Manhattan apartment.

Hov and Bey's new home is on an eight-acre bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  It was initially listed for $295 million, so it's almost like they got a deal.

The home's previous owner was William Bell, a soap opera producer and art collector.  Very little is known about the interior of the home, but it obviously impressed the Carters.
