It seems like Hip Hop and The Grammys still can't get along.
The NY Times spoke with the producer of The Grammys, Ken Ehrlich, about the disconnect between rap and music's most prestigious award show.
Ken had quite the opinion about why Hip Hop and The Grammys have had such a rough past.
When they don’t take home the big prize, the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continues to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad.
Ken went on to say that he offered performance slots to Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Childish Gambino.
They all declined to perform.
There is no word if the three will even attend The Grammys this year, even though they are all nominated in major categories.
