by Daryl Nelson

Dave East stopped by the No Jumper podcast and during the chat he explained why he has no desire to be called the "King of New York". [Jump to 4:40]

"Keep me out of that. I ain't no King of New York," he told Adam 22. "You know, Jay-Z and Nas still out here breathing, so there's nobody on earth that can say that that's from New York with them alive. Jadakiss is still out here breathing. Styles [P] is still out here breathing. DMX is still... you know, there's a lot of people that's still kicking and moving."

Last week it was reported that East's new album Survival only moved 3,000 units in its first week, but later it was revealed those figures were wrong and the LP moved 22,319 SPS with 5,699 in traditional sales.

Do you think a more new-school King of New York should be named and do you think Dave East would be in the running?
