August Alsina Goes In On Def Jam For Holding Up His Album

by HHL JT

August Alsina isn’t happy with his record label Def Jam, and he used Twitter's new 280 character limit to tell everyone about it.

It happened after someone asked when the follow-up to his 2015 LP This Thing Called Life would be coming out, and the R&B singer said it was being held up.

I would love to put my album out but DEF JAM is holding it/me hostage because the system is not up & running until next year so they basically dont exist. The label is just TRASH .. I will release free music soon but that has been the hold up. Tell Them to FREE ME 🗣& the Album🗣 https://t.co/xIitEDUaDp

It’s easy for one to think that Alisna’s words will cause problems between himself and the label.  But that may not be the case since he’s blasted them before. He did it in 2015 after he accused them of leaking his This Thing Called Life album.

Do you think Alsina publicly calling out his label will make any difference?
