A$AP Rocky's Arrest and Jail Time Has The U.S. State Department 'Concerned'

A$AP Rocky remains jailed Sweden and some in the U.S. State Department are worried that he might not be getting fair treatment.

The Harlem rapper was arrested earlier this month in Stockholm after footage showed him getting into a street fight.  Another video showed the locals were the aggressors, not Rocky. There was also a report that stated Rocky was being jailed in filthy conditions, which his own lawyer pushed back on.

"There are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns,” said a spokesperson for the State Department. “We expect all governments, including Sweden, to treat American citizens fairly and with respect ... We hope to see ASAP Rocky and his colleagues back on tour and reunited with friends and family soon.”

Swedish prosecutors will have to decide this Friday if they'll charge Rocky. At which point he'll either be let go or prosecutors will have to ask the judge to keep him locked up longer. If charged, he faces up to six years.
