Last summer, Kevin Gates violently kicked 18-year old fan Miranda Dixon after she grabbed at his shorts during a Lakeland, Florida show

Gates addressed the incident in his track 'The Truth.'

“She grabbed my dick overreacted I’m sorry / Two or three times I had already warned her” Gates raps.
But his apology wasn't enough for the local authorities, and Gates was charged with battery.

His lawyers are dealing with that now, and they intend to use Florida's controversial 'Stand Your Ground' law in his defense.

In their filings they state that Gates had warned Dixon not to touch him and had thought she was trying to pull him off of the stage. So he used the necessary force to defend himself and prevent harm. They want the judge to throw out the case under Stand Your Ground.

Check out video of the incident.
