Young Guru Talks About Jay-Z Warning Roc-A-Fella Artists About 50 Cent

Young Guru sat down on Math Hoffa's My Expert Opinion podcast and talked about Jay-Z warning his Roc-A-Fella artists about 50 Cent back in the day.

If you recall, before 50's Get Rich or Die Tryin' dropped, the music industry created a buzz about him that at the time seemed unprecedented. That's mainly because of 50 and G-Unit's mixtape success.

“There’s a point where Jay walks in the studio, and it just so happened that everybody was in the studio," said Guru, who recently talked about Jay doing his "God Did" verse in one take. "I think we were working on The Blueprint 2 ... And Jay walked in the studio, he said it before but I'm telling you how impactful it was. He walked in the studio and he was like, 'Yo, this dude 50, y'all gonna have to deal with him in the next couple months.' He said it to the whole crew, 'You have to deal with him' ... Jay acknowledged it early, he was like, ‘Y’all gonna have to deal with this dude, he’s coming.'’"
