Young Greatness Shot And Killed In New Orleans

by Daryl Nelson

Young Greatness was gunned down in his hometown of New Orleans at the age of 34.

4WWL reports that Greatness was shot early Monday morning while outside of a Waffle House on Elysian Fields Avenue. The shooting occurred around 1:35 a.m. and police found the rapper with a single gunshot wound. His vehicle had been stolen.

The police pronounced him dead on the scene and are looking into two unnamed suspects.

"You wouldn't expect that coming happening with him,” one of his friends’ at the scene told 4WWL. “Dude wasn't into nothing but his music and his daughter … Wasn't into nothing else man.”

The last we heard Greatness had left Quality Control and signed to Cash Money. His biggest song to date is 2016's "'Moolah."

RIP.

Update: Here's a just-released track from Greatness, which poignantly discusses his dying.
