YNW Melly Jury Deadlocked: Mistrial In Play

That didn't take long.

After less than a day of deliberations, the jury in the YNW Melly murder case has told the judge they are deadlocked.

The judge ordered the jury to go back and try again.

BREAKING: The judge has ordered the 12 jurors in the YNW Melly trial to try to come to a verdict one more time after being deadlocked, if they're unable to reach a verdict, then the judge will declare a mistrial. pic.twitter.com/6Bs9Flcpg5

However, if they can't reach a verdict after that the judge will declare a mistrial.

Hung juries do not terminate jeopardy.  In this case, the prosecution would likely decide to retry the case from the beginning without it being considered double jeopardy.
