YK Osiris is officially an independent artist.

It happened back in December after he and his label Def Jam amicably parted ways. But the news is just surfacing now.

Of course, being dropped from the label has nothing to do with the controversy that was surrounding Osiris and Sukihana since that happened in June.

Osiris, if you recall, was blasted after he forcibly kissed Sukihana at the Crew League basketball tournament in Atlanta. But he's since apologized to her and she forgave him.

The singer has now released "Dear Fans," his first single as an independent artist where he sings about fake friends and feeling lonely.

The video racked up 77,000 views on YouTube in about 21 hours.
