Despite Nas being a legend and reaching a level of success that most rappers probably dream of, one can say that he's had a resurgence in the last couple of years.

This has to do with well-received albums that he released since 2020: King's Disease, King's Disease II, and Magic, all produced by Hit-Boy and others.

So it shouldn't be a surprise when younger rappers like Cordae express excitement about working with the Queens wordsmith, which he did earlier this year.

YG has also talked about working with Nas, something the Compton rhymer said he's been trying to do for a while.

"It was crazy ’cause I’ve been trying to get Nas on some sh*t for years," YG told TMZ. "I was trying to get him on my second album and sh*t but it just didn’t happen. But he’s been showing love since day one. He always supported my sh*t and all that, so when I finally got the verse, I was like, ‘Finally' .... The song that I got him on, it makes sense ’cause I’m popping it like I’m God’s son sh*t, and that’s like his sh*t. So when he did that sh*t, I was like, ‘Yeah, timing is everything.’ It was good though, I can’t wait ’til the people hear it.”

The song will be the second time that YG and Nas have worked together since YG appeared on“YKTV,” off the King’s Disease II album.
