Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) Is Retiring; Final Album Coming This Year

By Sermon

Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, is currently dealing with being kicked out South Africa after being caught with the wrong type of passport. Earlier this week, he placed a call to Kanye West and spoke to him about his African arrest and his future.

Yesterday, Ye' put the call on his website so everybody could here it. It features Yasiin spitting an acapella freestyle titled 'No More Parties In S.A,' and explaining his arrest and being forced out of South Africa.

Later in the call, Yasiin announced that he'll be retiring from both music and acting this year. His final album will be out sometime before, but he didn't share any additional information.

"I’m retiring from the music recording industry as it is currently assembled today, and also Hollywood, effective immediately. I’m releasing my final album this year, and that’s that.”
Are you buying Bey's retirement?
