XXXTentacion's Music Will Be Put Back on to Spotify

by Daryl Nelson

A couple of weeks ago, XXXTentacion's music was pulled from Spotify's playlists, along with R. Kelly's and Tay-K's, under the company's new "hate content and hateful conduct policy."

A lot of people accused Spotify of censorship, as well as discrimination, since it didn't remove other artists who've been in trouble with the law.

According to Bloomberg, Spotify has just done an about-face and will return XXX's music back to its playlist.

“It is virtually impossible to police millions of songs, lyrics, contributors and artists,” said media consultant Vickie Nauman. “Where and how do you draw the line? I support taking a stand and not willingly sponsoring a known violent artist, but it’s quite unclear to me how you can consistently monitor and apply any sort of similar editorial/social/cultural standards across art on any scale.”

Spotify is currently working with civil-rights activists and industry experts to fix the policy so there's no discrimination involved.  No word on what will happen to R. Kelly's and Tay-K's music.
