Westside Gunn Says That His Shady Records Debut Drops This Week

by Daryl Nelson

About three weeks after Conway received heavy praise for his album From King To A God, his brother and Griselda partner Westside Gunn announced that he'd be dropping his Shady Records debut on October 2.

The album is called Who Made The Sunshine, and features include Conway, Benny the Butcher, Black Thought, Jadakiss, Smoke DZA, Slick Rick, Armani Caesar, Boldy James and Busta Rhymes. Production will be handled by people like Just Blaze, Alchemist, Daringer and Beat Butcha.

Westside posted a message about the album on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and said its release is a full-circle moment for him.

"This is the Weekend 14yrs We Lost MachineGun Black," he wrote on Instagram. "Fast forward this weekend 10/2 I’ll be dropping my Debut Album 'WHO MADE THE SUNSHINE' on a Major @shadyrecords @interscope. I promise u NOTHING in Shady history sounds like this ... I’m done always talking about how dope sh*t is gonna be. I’m passed that point. I told y’all GRISELDA is unstoppable but this project right here add it to those Top 10 lists."
