Wale was a guest on a recent episode of the Rap Radar Podcast, where he talked about leaving Atlantic Records, and Rick Ross being rushed to the hospital last month.
As far as parting ways with Atlantic, the DMV rhymer said he still has a good relationship with the label and writes for some of its artists. In regards to MMG, Wale said he's still down but eventually wants to be his own boss and not just one of Ross' foot soldiers.
"I'm definitely still with MMG," said Wale. "But [Ross] knows I want to level up too. I want to get my EBM joint moving, and I want to go somewhere where I can get a building that doesn't have to look at me and four other artists as one artist."

In another part of the interview, he speaks on Ross' health crisis. The "Nike Boots" rapper said he was scared after hearing that Rozy was near death. He added that MMG honcho was doing fine these days and working on more music.
"The media had me rattled a little bit, but I'm like 'That's definitely not,'" Wale explained. "I was talking to Sam Sneak the whole time. Fat Boy good. He probably ain't been resting. He's going, hard working on Port Of Miami 2."
