Wale Addresses J. Cole Criticizing Him On "False Prophets"

by HHL JT

J. Cole surprised everyone by taking on his good buddy Wale in his track "False Prophets".

"I got a homie, he a rapper and he wanna win bad/He want the fame, the acclaim, the respect that's been had/ By all the legends, so every time I see him, he stressin'/ Talkin' 'bout, niggas don't fuck with him, the shit is depressin," Cole rapped.

Not long after the track dropped, Wale and Cole were spotted together at a basketball game, so you know whatever was going on between the two wasn't that serious. Wale also reiterated that it was all love in his response track "Groundhog Day."

Wale has had more than a year to think about why Cole put those words on wax rather than just pick up the phone and call him. Here's what he said about that on The Breakfast Club today.

"Maybe it was the shock," Wale, who learned about "False Prophets" when everyone started texting him about it, speculated. "Maybe he wanted to give it to me another way. Cole always tell me I don't listen...That's what makes us so close, it's very raw and uncut."

"Looking back on that, I'm glad we did it that way," he continued. "We showed a whole bunch of youngins you can be enemies, best friends, all that, but you can still settle it like gentlemen ... The only thing I was disappointed in a little bit is that some of the stuff come from personal conversations, like one on one."
