Vince Staples Talks Mac Miller's Death; Says The Good Ones Always Die

by Daryl Nelson

Vince Staples spoke on Mac Miller's death during a recent radio interview.

"He was trying," he said. "All you can ask for is for somebody to try. You can't always win ... I never seen him dying, ever. He was too happy. But to be honest, the good ones always die. So it makes sense in retrospect, but I was never worried about him."

Staples then said that all the people praising Miller should actually reach out to his family because they need to hear those words the most.

"As far as all them people, it's all good. I appreciate what they say, but I need them to say that to his momma and say that to his family and check on them," he said. "That's what I care about, 'cause I got a lot of homies that's dead, in five months they mama by themselves."

Vince is currently promoting his new album FM!, which came out a few days ago. During one interview with Joe Budden, he said that Time magazine did him dirty when they twisted his words about '90 Hip Hop.
