Vince Staples Breaks Down What He Paid Lil Baby For a Feature

In 2020, Lil Baby upped his feature rate to 100K and called out rappers who didn't want to meet it.

"Ima feel offended if you want a verse from me but don’t got a 100k .... 'respect my hustle,'" he posted and deleted back then. "An 100k cheap by the way do your streaming research."

Apparently, Baby doesn't charge that rate to everyone.

According to Vince Staples, Baby gave him the verse you hear on Staple's 2022 track "East Point Prayer" for nothing after meeting him and a Motown event and bonding.

“He did it for free,” he told Big Boy. “And I don’t believe in asking nobody to do nothing for free. I believe in whatever you charge.  You gotta feed your family, and he did it for free. And you already know, he can charge whatever he wants. It’s funny because I met him at a Motown thing. We was cool and we ain’t really talk like that. And I was like, ‘Lil Baby would sound good on this.’ And I was tryna get it so where we could talk about it. He said, ‘We don’t even have to talk, I’m going to do it.’ He just went and did it. He looked out.”

If the State of Georgia decides to move on Lil Baby in their massive RICO investigation into Atlanta area gangs that has so far snagged Young Thug and Gunna, Baby may wish he got that 100K from Staples to help with his legal fees.
