Tyrese Mocks The Rock Over 'Hobbs And Shaw''s Weak Box Office

by HHL JT

During Tyrese's high profile mental breakdown last year, he spent a good chunk of IG time attacking The Rock's decision to delay Fast & Furious 9 and focus on an F&F spinoff featuring Hobbs (The Rock) and Shaw (Jason Statham), but not the rest of the team.

Hobbs and Shaw dropped Friday. It's $61 million domestic, $180 million worldwide opening weekend would be great for most movies. But it's not so great for F&F franchise. It's the lowest opening since Toyko Drift.

Tyrese pointed out the weaker than usual numbers in a deleted Instagram post.

"I have to show my respects for one thing … He tried,” Gibson wrote. “Folks called me a hater … And attacked me for speaking out … Breaking up the family clearly doesn’t have the value that one would assume it does … You know what maybe just maybe … The Rock and the crew will come dance with us again for #Fast10. We can all hug it out and get back to giving the true fans who have supported this franchise for 20 years WHAT they want … No hating I’m just pointing out the facts.”

Hobbs and Shaw has yet to open in China, so its overseas numbers should improve.
