Tyga Sues Birdman and Lil Wayne

by Daryl Nelson

Tyga is suing Young Money and Cash Money for royalty payments.

According to T-Raww,  he made a deal in 2009 to produce two albums for Young Money, which turned out to be Careless World and Hotel California, No. 4 and No. 7 on the Billboard album chart respectively. But Tyga said Lil Wayne who owns Young Money, shorted him "significant sums" afterward.

Tyga also said that in 2016 Cash Money and Young Money said they'd pay him back all of the royalties that were owed to him -- about a million dollars -- but never did despite his repeated efforts to collect.

The news of the suit comes in the midst of the Cali rapper having a musical resurgence of sorts with "Taste" being a legit hit. His follow-up single "Swish" is also in a good position to do well. It also comes amid Birdman, Lil Wayne, and Cortez Bryant legally jostling over Drake's royalties.

Do you think Tyga will get the money he's looking for?
