A grand jury has indicted Troy Ave for attempted murder and two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The Brooklyn rapper had been caught on tape shooting up a backstage VIP area at New York's Irving Plaza during a T.I. show.

Troy's bodyguard Ronald "Banga" McPhatter was killed in the gunfire. Three others were injured including Troy, who allegedly shot himself in the leg.

Ave wasn't in Manhattan Supreme Court today, but will be required to appear July 7 for his arraignment.

He is currently being held without bail.

Troy's lawyer Scott Leemon says his client is the real victim, and Troy also proclaimed his innocence in a jailphone freestyle that was included in his mixtape 'Free Troy.'
