Troy Ave became a punchline when it was reported his debut album Major Without A Deal sold fewer than 5000 copies -- and only 30 physical copies -- in its first week.
Troy was on 105.1's The Breakfast Club this morning and he challenged some of those numbers, explaining that the much-mocked 30 physical copies were from just one store in The Bronx which started selling the album before they were supposed to.
He also justified his low overall total by saying that, as an independent artist, he doesn't need to sell a lot of albums to make money. (A justifiable position, but you still want to sell more than he appears to have.)
The Brooklyn emcee also addressed Manolo Rose, and was completely dismissive of the man Troy swiped the beat and hook of his hit 'All About The Money' from.
"We don't really got no relationship," he said about Rose. "When I see him I'll probably give him a wedgie or slap him or something regular."Troy also said he used to sell Rose and his crew coke, to which Manolo responded:
