Tracy Morgan Can't Believe Walmart is Blaming Him, May Never Perform Again

by HHL JT

On Monday we reported on Walmart's aggressive legal strategy to blame Tracy Morgan for the June accident, caused by their truck driver, which left the comic seriously injured.

According to legal documents, Walmart is arguing Morgan is at fault because he wasn't wearing a seat-belt in his limo. The argument has rubbed more than few folks the wrong way, and Morgan weighed in on it yesterday in statement released by his lawyer.

"After I heard what Walmart said in court I felt I had to speak out," the funnyman said. "I can't believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong."

A passenger in Morgan's limo was killed in the crash, and three others were injured.

That Morgan used a written statement to express himself is significant and sad. The 45-year old suffered serious injuries to his head and lower body in the accident, and has not made an official public appearance since.

According to Morgan's lawyer Benedict Morelli, the former SNL star is still undergoing physical and cognitive therapy, and is currently confined to a wheelchair. Morelli says "the jury is out" on whether Morgan will ever perform again.

Here's hoping Morgan can make a Richard Pryor-like return from what seems to be some pretty devastating injuries.

When he does come back, we expect him to be even funnier, as some of the best comedy comes from misery.
