TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith regularly makes it clear that he's the one who calls the shots in terms of when the label's albums get released.

So he may have been feeling the heat when Kendrick Lamar's fourth album didn't drop today, even though K.Dot suggested it was going to in his 'The Heart Part 4' bars.

This afternoon Top Dawg confirmed what we all figured out from iTunes: The album is coming next Friday, April 14.

Then he pushed back at the notion that the album was supposed to hit today.

He also co-signed a fan's theory on what was supposed to happen on April 7th.

Hmm. Our theory is that Kendrick and TDE were intending to drop the album on April 7th.  But it didn't happen for one or more of the dozens of reasons albums regularly get pushed back.

And as long is it does come out, it doesn't really matter.
