Mobb Deep's Prodigy was arrested on a gun charge in 2006 after he and producer The Alchemist were pulled over in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.

P later received a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence and was released in March of 2011.

Tony Yayo talked about the arrest in an interview with VladTV and said the cops wanted the Mobb Deep member to set up 50 Cent.

“They wanted him to plant the gun on 50,” said Yayo. "The cops probably had a problem with him ... There’s a lot of cops that are fans. They’ll run down, ‘Yo, I was gonna give you a ticket but I knew it was your car.’ It be stuff like that in New York because we legends out there."

"They were some bad cops," he added about the 50, Prodigy situation. "They wanted to, you know, set a muthaf*cka up.”

Prodigy also talked about the incident with VladTV back in 2011.
