T.I. Explains Why He Turned Down 21 Savage For a Deal After He Asked For A Million

21 Savage recently joined T.I. on his podcast ExpediTIously, where they chopped it up about the industry.

During the chat, Savage revealed that he wanted to sign with T.I. but Tip turned him down not because he didn't think he was good but because he thought he was too good.

"I asked for a million dollars.  And you told me, 'nah', because what I have to take in return ain't even going to be worth it. I stayed independent.  I probably would have signed a deal if it wasn't for you. I probably wouldn't have what I got

"That made me feel good.  I had the same conversation with Thug," T.I. responded. "If I give you a $1 million, I'm going to take 10 times as much because that's just the way the game goes. If you want to maintain ownership of your art and equity in your art, you got to go through those tough times in the beginning. Can't accept upfront money and cushion your blow. You have to go ahead and get it out the mud the same way you do anything else if you want to stand your principles as a baller."
