"SoundCloud rapper" doesn't have to be an insult.

The steaming service just announced their totals for 2016, and three rappers topped their three most important categories.

Chance the Rapper's project Coloring Book was SoundCloud's most popular "album" of 2016 with 108 million streams. Desiigner's 'Panda' was the most popular track (150 million streams), and Lil Uzi Vert was SoundCloud's most followed artist (815,000).

"Because of you, our connected community of listeners, curators and creators, SoundCloud is constantly driving culture and creativity forward and creating new trends," the company writes. "In many cases, what’s 'breaking' or 'new' everywhere else, is born on SoundCloud." throwback-to-2016
