The Weeknd May Be About To Drop A New Album

It's been almost a year and a half since The Weeknd dropped his last album, Starboy.

That's been about the average time between major projects over his career. This evening, Weeknd upped the speculation that he is going to have another album really soon by sharing this text message conversation with La Mar Taylor, his high school friend turned creative director.

"Should we drop Friday? I'm indifferent to be honest," he writes.

Sources tell Billboard that The Weeknd has been working on new material. 

"This project is Abel taking it back to his roots," reveals their source.

Abel was also spotted shooting a music video in California last week.
