The NBA will be back with 22 teams on July 31, according to ESPN.
In addition to the top-seeded teams in each conference, the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, and San Antonio Spurs in the West and the Washington Wizards in the East will continue to play.
The returning teams will play eight regular-season games in Orlando for the purpose of playoff seeding.
If the number ninth-seeded team is within four games of the eighth seed, there will be a play-in game.
The last possible date for the NBA Finals will be October 12.
The NBA draft and opening of free agency will follow. No word yet on how this will affect the 20-21 season.
The NBA board of governors is expected to approve the plan later today.
