The Mannequin Challenge Helps Rae Sremmurd (& More) To Their First #1

by HHL Editors

The Rae Sremmurd track 'Black Beatles' is the unofficial song of the Mannequin Challenge.

Thanks in large part to the craze, it's the official number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.

'Black Beatles' just knocked the Chainsmoker's featuring Halsey hit 'Closer' out of the top spot, earning Rae Srummurd their first #1 single

You do what you want in this world, and people either love you or hate you for it," Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee told Billboard after he hard the news. "Thanks to everyone that stands behind us." Slim Jxmmi added, "Unlock the swag, shoutout to the fans that supported 'Black Beatles.'"
'Black Beatles' is also the first Hot 100 number one for its feature Gucci Mane and its producer Mike WiLL Made-It.

"I haven't seen anything like the Mannequin Challenge since [Soulja Boy Tell'Em's 2007 seven-week No. 1] 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' or [Los Del Rio's 1996 14-week No. 1] 'Macarena," Mike Will explains. "'Black Beatles' is the best song I have produced so far in my career," he continues. "The way it came together couldn't have been more natural, and it's amazing to see people feel the same way, and gravitate to the record so naturally. For 'Black Beatles' to be so true to us and our sound - we weren't chasing a sound - it solidifies that the world is ready for us and what we have to come."
