The Game Explains How He Gave, Then Took Back The 'Drillmatic' Title From Lil Durk

by Daryl Nelson

After pushing his album Drillmatic back numerous times, Game was supposed to drop it last night.

It hasn't dropped yet.

Instead, we have an interview Game did with HipHopDX.

During that discussion, The Game said that he first gave the Drillmatic title to Lil Durk but then took it back.

“Originally, I gave [the title] Drillmatic to Durk because he’s from the Chi and it has the whole drill thing,”said The Game. “I text Durk, like, ‘Yo, call your next album Drillmatic.’ And he was like, ‘Yo, that’s fire.’ And then two years passed and he didn’t call nothing Drillmatic so I was like, ‘I’ma reel that back in.'”

Elsewhere, The Game said that he cleared the title with Nas since Drillmatic sounds similar to the Queens legend's classic, Illmatic.

Was it wrong for The Game to give, then take back the Drillmatic title from Durk?
