Gambino Crime Family Pressed Raekwon Over Naming his Album 'Wu-Gambinos'

Wu-Gambinos is one of the classic tracks on Raekwon's album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...

The whole album was going to be called Wu-Gambinos.  However, Raekwon and  Wu-Tang's manager Steve Rifken got a message from the Gambino crime family that such a move wouldn't be OK, and put the kibosh on the title.

"They was like, yo you can't call no albums that.  This was a conversation I had with Rifken. Because Rifken's pops, rest in peace, he was connected.  He had a lot of relationships.  I remember me enforcing the title on Steve and saying 'yo, this is what we want to call it, we want to call it Wu-Gambinos' and he was like 'yo, I'm gonna like into that.' And I remember him coming back to me and saying, 'yo that's not happening.' And was like 'you serious', and he was like 'it's gonna happening. They not having that.'"

So it didn't.
