Did Will Smith normalize the man slap when he attacked Chris Rock on the Academy Award stage for telling Jada bald jokes?

We have two data points to suggest he did.

In the first, a student walks up to his teacher and gives him five fingers on the cheek.  The teacher then cowers in pain.  (This could be fake, but who knows?)

In the second, a junior tennis player slaps his opponent at the net.  (This clearly happened for real.)

Will Smith didn't have to curse to sell records.  But he still ended up being a worse influence than the guy who did.
