#TBT: Who Remembers Kendrick Lamar's 2009 'C4' Tape?

by Sermon

With Young Thug getting ready to release Carter 6 next week, it seems right to revisit Kendrick Lamar's 2009 C4 mixtape. Two years before Wayne released Tha Carter 4, Kendrick, who at the time was still K. Dot, took several of Tha Carter 3's instrumentals and essentially named it the fourth installment of the series before Weezy got the chance to. It's similar to what Young Thug is doing with one significant difference. K. Dot did it in tribute and even had a co-sign from Wayne on the project.

If you've never heard this tape, you're in for a treat. You can hear early on that K. Dot was something special as he tackles beats like "Phone Home," "Mr. Carter" and "Misunderstood."  The features are made up of the other three TDE artists at the time, and even has two rare appearances from President Punch.
