T.I. Lashes Out At Bankruptcy Headline

by HHL JT

T.I.'s Atlanta eatery Scales 925 shut down nearly two years ago.

But Tip and his partner Charles Hughes, who each own 40 percent of Scales, continue to be plagued by lawsuits from former employees who claim unpaid wages.

So on May 1, Scales 925 Atlanta filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

That action just generated a headline that T.I. really didn't like.

"@pagesix, y'all running bogus stories now," Tip wrote next to screenshot of the headline "T.I. files for bankruptcy over a failed restaurant."

T.I. has a really good point here: It's his failed restaurant that went Chapter 7, not him. This is far from a 50 Cent situation. On top of that, technically Hughes, not Tip, made the bankruptcy filing.

And it looks like Page Six has updated the headline.

Now, it's not like Tip's finances are impeccable. In 2016, it was reported T.I. and his wife Tiny owed the IRS $6.2 million.

He's paid back some of that.  But he's still in the hole to Uncle Sam for about $5 million.

Perhaps that's why T.I. is said to be contemplating a return to reality TV.
