T.I. And Tiny Just Won A $71 Million Lawsuit

T.I. and Tiny just more than doubled their net worth.

Today, a jury in Santa Ana, California, awarded the couple $71 million in their lawsuit against toy giant MGA Entertainment.

At issue were MGA's “L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G.” line of dolls, which the Harrises said violated the intellectual property rights of their teen pop group OMG Girlz.

After three separate trials, the jury ruled that they did and awarded $17.9 million in actual damages and $53.6 million in punitive damages.

“I mean, wow. They did more than I thought they would,” Tiny said “I would have been happy with whatever. They blessed us more than beyond. We wanted to thank the jurors so bad, but we didn’t get the opportunity.”

The first trial ended in a mistrial, and MGA prevailed in the second trial. However, a Supreme Court ruling in another case triggered a retrial for T.I. and Tiny.

“I think justice was served. I think it’s a testament to the relentlessness and resilience of my wife, daughter and nieces,’ T.I. said. “We’re just happy we were able to come out on top and fight for creatives and our intellectual property that large corporations seem to think is just public domain and free for all to come and grab and use.”

It's unclear if MGA will appeal.
