Swizz Beatz and Timbaland co-founded Verzuz in 2020 and sold it to the video-sharing company Triller in 2021.

The two producers went through a legal dispute with the company soon after, though, saying they stopped paying them.

But regardless of all that, Swizz says that he and Timbo still fully own Verzuz.

“Verzuz is still 100 percent Black-owned," said Swizz on an Instagram Live chat with Timbaland. "50 percent on the top of your screen, and 50 percent on the bottom of your screen. Tim and Swizz, that’s who own Verzuz. In case you ain’t know… It was built for the people, and it will stay with the people. And we love everybody.”

Does this news about Swizz and Timbo's Verzuz ownership surprise you?
