Suspect in Murder of Angela Simmons' Ex-Fiance Turns Himself In

by Daryl Nelson

The alleged killer of Angela Simmons' ex-fiancé Sutton Tennyson has turned himself in to Atlanta police.

Michael Williams is accused of shooting Tennyson in his driveway on Nov. 4. Tennyson and Simmons — who's the daughter of Rev Run of Run D.MC. — have a 2-year-old son together. At first, police thought Tennyson was the victim of a break-in, but now they believe he was shot after an argument.

Williams has been charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felon. Williams's lawyer said he wouldn't be making any statements.

But Angela spoke out after she heard the tragic news and although they ended their engagement last year, she said her ex's murder crushed her.

“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” wrote Simmons. “I’m hurting . I’m numb. Thank you for the outpouring of love, everyone . I can't believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way. I promise.”

It's certainly been a tough year for the Simmons family with her uncle Russell is still in the middle of a slew of rape allegations

On a more positive note for the family, Angela's baby brother Diggy Simmons returned to music after a six-year hiatus. The 23-year-old said he was battling anxiety.
